Christina’s feelings on the oxford comma
I love it! I know some folks aren’t fans, my college journalism professors being among them, and I can respect that. Whenever I wrote for their classes, that final comma was never to be seen. However, in my personal writing the oxford comma will always have a place to call home because I look after and cherish those I love.
christina’s newest venture
My newest venture is learning ASL. I’ve always wanted to be bilingual, but I wanted to learn a language that I knew would have an impact on my every day life.
I’ve spent many years working with young children and non-verbal kids with autism, and those experiences shaped how I think about communication. Learning ASL is my way of meeting people where they are, and making sure they feel seen and understood. To me, that’s one of the most important skills you can build.
Something Christina owns way too many of
Bookmarks! I own 57 bookmarks and don’t plan to stop collecting anytime soon. But it’s fine because they’re all from a small business I love, so really, I’m just supporting the arts.
As evidenced by my intense love of Pinterest, I appreciate an organized and aesthetic life, and that extends to my hobbies. Every book I read gets a carefully chosen bookmark that perfectly matches its cover.
See!
christina’s Biggest Flex
In kindergarten, I won first place in the North Carolina State Fair Art Show. I retired from painting competitions immediately thereafter and left the game while I was still on top. Some may say I peaked early, but I say I knew when to walk away. I think five-year-old me would’ve done well in Vegas.
